About The Outliner...

SceneWriter Pro's Scene List
is an outlining tool that allows you to dynamically
add or remove scenes from the list, and then simply
add the text later! This method is so flexible you
can write scenes in the order they appear in your
mind, and then rearrange them later with a simple
drag and drop of the mouse. With SceneWriter
Pro you may even print or export your outline
for others to work with independent of printing
or exporting the actual screenplay!
Normally it's difficult to navigate your way through
a screenplay with conventional screenwriting software
such as Final Draft or Movie Magic Screenwriter
because all of the scenes are listed by their Slug
Lines. With SceneWriter Pro, navigating
your screenplay is child's play because not only can
you give your scenes friendly names, such as
"This is where Bob gets shot," but you can
also give each scene a visual icon to represent
the content - for example, you could use a gun icon
for the "This is where Bob gets shot" scene.

screenshots) you can see that there's an "act I"
icon on the first scene. This icon has the ability to color
all of the Act I scenes in a light blue. The second scene
has been given a "telephone" icon. Most of the
other icons are the default scene icons.
Next to all of the icons are the scene durations in square
brackets. For example, the second scene (highlighted) has
a duration of 2 minutes 4 seconds. This is a great visual
way of keeping track of how long each scene runs
for in your screenplay.

As well as the Scene List which allows you to outline
your script before even writing a single word, SceneWriter

writing of your screenplay a cinch:
- Scene development: Each scene in your screenplay
is listed in the Scene List window, and each scene
contains its own individual "scene notes". These
notes can be used to develop your scenes or to keep absolutely
any piece of information about that scene in one convenient

List window, each character in your screenplay is
listed in the Characters window, and that too has
its own individual "character notes" to help
develop your characters - and more importantly for you
to refer to as you write your screenplay so that you never
lose sight of the character you are writing about!
- Importing of existing scripts: Have you got a
script that you started writing in Word or any other word
processor / screenwriting software? No problem, SceneWriter
Pro can import RTF and TXT files and automatically
add the scenes, characters and locations to your project.
The built-in tutorial will get you writing straight away.
- Create accurate PDF files: Most scripts are transferred
to agents and producers electronically these days with
the use of the Adobe PDF file format. SceneWriter
Pro has one of the best PDF rendering engines
available today - and you may even password protect
your PDF file so that only those with the correct password
may read your script!

Who's Behind Virtual Amnesia?
In a nutshell, Virtual Amnesia (VA) is a company dedicated
to providing you - the screenwriter - with affordable, high-quality
screenwriting software that will "bring your script
to life". Our company was created by screenwriters
for screenwriters, and continues to be at the forefront
of cutting-edge screenwriting software development.
Virtual Amnesia was set up in Jan 2001 when SceneWriter
Pro's creator (Mark O'Neill) and his writing
partner had an idea for a screenplay. They searched around
for screenwriting software to help them write and format
their work correctly, but after trying out the various screenplay
software demos, to their amazement they found that the screenwriting
software available at the time were, in their opinion, overpriced
word processors. Added to that, they did nothing to help
them actually write their screenplay.
Armed with a background in programming, Mark set out to
create a new kind of screenwriting software - one in which
the different scenes in the screenplay could be accessed
or written in any order they saw fit, and hence SceneWriter
(and later SceneWriter Pro) was born.
Now in its 3rd incarnation, the software does not stand
