Character Mode

When you enter into a Character element, you are placed into a special editing mode called Character Mode - the margin icon turns red to signify this.
When in character mode, SceneWriter Pro will not only auto-complete (and add to) your character name from those that have been placed in the Characters window, but will also allow you to cycle through all of your characters by pressing the TAB key.

In the next example, instead of typing any letters, the user is pressing the TAB key to cycle through the list characters that are in the Characters window:

Once you are happy with your chosen character, press the ENTER key to accept it, or the Esc key to cancel any changes.
Adding Character Extensions
Character extensions, or parentheticals, can be added after a character name by RIGHT-CLICKING on the character and choosing an extension from the pop-up menu. Extensions can be added or removed from the Helpers window:

NOTE: By default, SceneWriter Pro will automatically add "(Cont'd)" to a character if the last character that spoke in a scene is the same as the one you are entering. You may turn off this feature by going to the General Options window and un-checking the "Add (CONT'D) to repeated characters" check box.
